Our Core Values
Accessibility
ASF-NGO believes the performing arts extend beyond the stage into areas of war, conflict, and humanitarian crisis.
Collaboration
We believe collaboration builds community. We treasure the act of coming together as sacred and we prioritize teamwork. We work to facilitate collaborations with partners, individuals, churches, refugee camps, and more in order to provide the greatest and most efficient performing arts outreach.
Courage
We believe it takes courage to serve the courageous. Our team pledges to reciprocate the strength, bravery, and fortitude presented by the millions of individuals displaced and uprooted from their homes in times of war, conflict, and crisis.
Creativity
From the ability to facilitate unexpected surprises to surpassing the anticipated or expected, we value the product of creative thinking and prioritize its use in all aspects of our organization, be they administrative strategies or in-the-field outreach.
Integrity
We hold ourselves at the highest standards of excellence which require accountability, honesty, and competency at all times - not only to the individuals we serve, but also to each other and our team, to our mission, to our donors, and to the public. Our relationships are founded and fostered on trust, loyalty, and following through on every commitment.
Respect
Disrespect is not tolerated; we respect the needs, values, and traditions of the individuals, communities, and cultures we serve. ASF-NGO recognizes that our success depends on the active involvement of individuals and partners whose livelihoods are linked to the geographic areas in which we seek to provide outreach.
Transparency
This is not a performance. We aim to be open, honest, and forward about all aspects of our organization from administration to on-the-ground operations.
We use dance, music, and theatre
to provide mental and emotional stability.
We use the performing arts to support the integral recovery and resolution phase of disaster relief and humanitarian aid. In situations of disaster and distress, providing food, water, and shelter only solves physical aid. That's why ASF steps in to provide emotional aid and support.
Be it in war zones or our own backyard, our performing arts outreach, enrichment, and entertainment has proven to put smiles on faces even in the most difficult circumstances.

Here’s How You Can Help
Donate Funds
Your generous support brings supplies to children and families in shelters, houses and feeds volunteers, and provides space for classes, workshops, labs, and performances.
Donate Space
FOR CLASSES:
We are currently coordinating with shelters, churches, warehouses, and staging areas housing refugees in order to provide performing arts classes, labs, and workshops. If you would like to donate space that could accommodate a performing arts workshop, please contact us below.
FOR VOLUNTEERS:
We work hard to coordinate housing and feeding our team so that we do not add to the burden of those in need of a place to sleep and a meal to eat in areas of disaster. The graciousness of others offering spare bedrooms, couches, and floors so that our creatives can teach, share, and inspire is overwhelming. If you would like to house a volunteer, please contact us below.
Donate Time: Volunteer
Interested in joining Team ASF-NGO? We would love to hear from you. Please send your resume / CV, a biography, and links to your website(s) and social media profile(s) through the contact form below.
Please note: All volunteers must pass a background check, drug screening test, and Board evaluation in order to receive an invitation for training to teach classes / labs / workshops in the field.
Join us for a swanky and fun evening full of live performances, dinner, beverages, a silent auction, a cash raffle, and dancing!
Proceeds from our Inaugural Gala will support our mission by providing dance, music, and theatrical classes, workshops and performances.

A bomb explodes. A highly trained extraction team pulls several individuals from the rubble. Medics address their wounds and deem them fit to travel to safety. The individuals move into nearby intermediate housing: a church, a refugee camp, a subway station. And then… they wait. Minutes pass. Days. Weeks. But it is the moments that linger. A moment spent treasuring a child’s laughter. A moment witnessing smiles on adult faces. A moment of active participants singing and dancing despite their reality; a moment of joy. A moment of warranted distraction. A moment of presence. A moment of peace. Perhaps even a moment of freedom from the surreal reality. Perhaps a moment of love - of a moment of feeling at home. That is the vision. Through teaching dance, music, and theatre, to give individuals experiencing crisis simply an option of a moment – amidst destruction, pain, and death– to feel the most alive.
